Trustee William C. Smith
A Trustee since 2002, Bill lives in the southwest portion of Canton Township with his wife of 32 years, Diana. They have two married children, Bill and his wife Amy and Jennifer with husband Jerry. They enjoy their grandchildren Taylor and Logan.
Bill graduated in 1974 from East Canton High School. He has been in business at Smith’s Waco Market for 32 years. After purchasing the store, he and Diana lived above the store for several years as the business grew. Bill also manages several commercial properties through Smith Properties.
He also holds a Commercial/Instructor rating in Lighter than Air, Hot Air Balloons. He has been a pilot for over 20 years and serves on the Hall of Fame Balloon Classic Committee and serves as the field announcer for the event.
Bill is a past member of the Canton South Rotary, Jaycees, K of C, Canton South Athletic and Band Booster Clubs. He is also a past board member of the Canton South YMCA. He currently serves on the Canton Local Citizens Advisory Committee and has served on the Canton Local Long Range Planning Committee, as a levy chairman and on many levy committees. Bill is an Honorary Board Member of the East Central Ohio Food Dealers Association, where he serves as Chairman of the Board and on several other committees.
